Terms and Conditions

Namaste and welcome to Skybound Adventure! Go through these terms and conditions carefully, which apply to all adventure bookings made with us, Skybound Adventure, a government-licensed holder of travel, trek, and tour company based in the capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu.

On confirming the booking with us, Skybound Adventure, a travel and trek agency of repute, license number 2023-9-5, you agree to be bound by the terms of the contract and agree thst these terms stand to resolve any legal or other dispute that may arise during the journey, including booking, payment, and cancellation policy.

The Contract

The contract between Skybound Adventure and the client comes into existence only after the company receives a completed booking form and the required deposit amount, or the full amount, and issues a written confirmation of booking. Make sure to provide accurate information as stated on your passport, and if you are making a reservation on behalf of other participants, it is a must that you have their permission.

In addition, you will be responsible for ensuring all payments are made. If any changes, adjustments, or cancellations are needed, they must be communicated within your group, and the company will not be accountable for any mistakes or inconsistencies in the information provided while booking.

Booking and Payment

To reserve your seat for treks, tours, expeditions, or any other adventurous activities operated by Skybound Adventure, submit the filled booking form on our website or by email. In a while, you will be asked to make a deposit, which is to secure your booking and is generally 10% for Nepal and 50% for Tibet and Bhutan of the total trip, and can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or online payment as well.

The transaction fees may apply, which in general is 3.5%, and are not affiliated with the total cost of the trip. Thereafter, you will wait for the receipt for a confirmation invoice or email, which should not take much time, and before your reservation is confirmed and the contract comes into force, the company has the right to increase or lower the price of the package.

The remaining balance must be paid in full before the departure date. In case you fail to pay the balance before the start of the trip, it may result in cancellation of the booking and forfeiture of your deposit. In addition, Skybound Adventure will also not be held liable for any additional warranties, collateral, past agreements, descriptions of services, or terms other than those explicitly stated in the contract.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Skybound Adventure is renowned for a transparent cancellation and refund policy without any hidden clauses or charges, which is as follows:

Cancellation by the client

If the client cancels their booking, it must be made in writing, and cancellation charges will apply based on the total trip cost and are as follows:

  • Less than 15 days before departure means 100% of the cancellation charge will apply, i.e., no refund.
  • 15–30 days before the trip departure date is equal to a 50% cancellation charge of the total trip cost.
  • If you cancel more than 30 days before, only the deposit will be forfeited, and you may choose a similar trip within one year.

Trip Cancellation by the Company

Yes, you are right; Skybound Adventure reserves the right to cancel a trip in the event of unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, political changes, insufficient bookings, or other reasons concerning safety. But, no need to worry at all; in case of trip cancellation made by the company itself, we offer either a similar value trip or a full refund, except for the deposit. However, there is no refund for unused services once the trip/tour departs.

Changes to the itinerary

While Skybound Adventure strives to stick to the planned itinerary, we do reserve the right to modify the itinerary due to weather changes, government restrictions, trail closures, safety concerns, flight delays, cancellations, and logistical issues. For the well-being, clients agree to be flexible and accept the necessary changes.

In case you need to reschedule the trip, it is a must that you provide us with details of the current booking and reasons in written form at least 20 days before the departure day of the trip. If you are looking forward to transferring your trip or tour to another person or postponing, some additional costs may apply.

Passport, Visa, and Permits

While it is a must that the tourists traveling to Nepal are responsible for obtaining valid passports, entry visas, and essential permits required for the trip, most nationals are offered tourist visas on arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu or border points. For this, the passport must have at least six months of validity from the entry to the return date. Skybound Adventure does assist with the necessary trekking permits and visas, but the final responsibility lies with the client, including for trips to Bhutan and Tibet.

Responsibility and Liability

Skybound Adventure serves as the agent for managing your trip's logistics, including meals, accommodation, and transportation. Though we take every precaution to ensure you have a safe, sound, and memorable journey, high-altitude trekking and any sort of adventure always carry some inherent risks, acting as an important ingredient to an unforgettable experience.

Therefore, clients release the Skybound Adventure family, including guides, staff, and affiliates, from any loss, injuries, damage, delays, and other irregularities as a result of things beyond our control that may occur during the trip.

The Code of Conduct

Trekkers, climbers, and adventurers moving forth to their dream destination in the Himalayas are expected to respect the region’s culture, customs, traditions, and environment. Abide by the laws and customs of the country you are traveling to. It is a must that you follow the instructions of guides and group leaders all the time. Take only photographs and leave only footprints, and even before you photograph anything or anyone, ask for permission like we do.
